BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. Singapore-Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) plans to start the projects aimed at enhancing investment, trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Singapore, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.

In this regard, Singapore hosted an online presentation on the economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan for member companies of the SMCCI and the country's business community as a whole.

The Singapore side was attended by President of SMCCI Farid Khan, employees of this organization, as well as representatives of more than 60 SMCCI member companies.

The Uzbek side was represented by the First Deputy Chairman of the Uzyogmoysanoat association Kamar Serkaev, and directors of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The participants of the event were provided with detailed information on the modern economic development of the country, its investment potential and new opportunities for Singaporean companies in the development of tourism infrastructure and its services, deep processing of agricultural products and the production of finished food products, as well as prospects for cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses of the two countries.

During the event, the great interest in Singapore's business circles and, in particular, SMCCI member companies in establishing long-term partnerships with representatives of industry associations and private circles in Uzbekistan was emphasized.
