Uzbekistan reveals total assets and liabilities of its banks for 7M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 510.6 trillion soums ($46.3 billion) from January through July 2022, which is an increase of 27.5 percent compared to the same period last year (400.4 trillion soums or $36.3 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

From January through July 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 408.4 trillion soums ($37 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 102.2 trillion soums ($9.3 billion).

The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 29.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (336.8 trillion soums, or $30.5 billion), reaching 435.4 trillion soums ($39.5 billion).

During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 348.4 trillion soums ($31.6 billion). At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 86.9 trillion soums ($7.9 billion).
