BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. The value of non-performing loans (NPL) issued by Uzbek banks from January through August 2022 decreased by 5.4 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
This figure amounted to 17.5 trillion soums ($1.6 billion) from January through August 2022, which is 4.9 percent of the total volume of all issued loans.
The volume of NPL from January through August 2021 amounted to 18.5 trillion soums ($1.7 billion).
From January through August 2022, the NPL of state-owned banks of Uzbekistan accounted for 15 trillion soums ($1.4 billion), while private banks’ NPL accounted for 2.4 trillion soums ($223.6 million).
