BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has published data on the loan portfolio in Uzbekistan's projects, Trend reports with reference to the EBRD.
According to EBRD, the current loan portfolio of the bank projects in Uzbekistan is estimated at 2.2 billion euros.
The bank notes that the loan portfolio is calculated for the implementation of 69 projects.
The major part of the investment portfolio (72 percent or 1.6 billion euros) focuses on sustainable infrastructure, 19 percent (428 million euros) – on financial institutions, and 9 percent (199 million euros) – on industry, commerce, and agribusiness, the EBRD said.
In total, the bank has invested some 3.8 billion euros in Uzbekistan's 128 projects.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the country's leading investor, has been cooperating with Uzbekistan since April 1992.
Furthermore, in 2022, the EBRD invested some $900 million in Uzbekistan’s 26 projects, making it the leading recipient of its funding in Central Asia for the third year running. Funds were allocated to various fields of the country ranging from renewable energy to banking.
