BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to $333.5 million in January 2023, increasing by $69.7 million, compared to the same period in 2022 ($263.8 million), Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
Trade with Kazakhstan accounted for 6.6 percent of Uzbekistan’s trade turnover in January 2023, while the largest volume of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was recorded with Russia (13.7 percent).
Kazakhstan’s imports from Uzbekistan in the reporting period made up $56.7 million, decreasing by 7.8 percent over January 2022 ($61.5 million), while exports amounted to $276.8 million. This figure increased by 36.8 percent, compared to the figure for January 2022 ($202.3 million).
During the reporting period, Kazakhstan imported from Uzbekistan some 23,500 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $9.9 million, and textile products worth $4.7 million, etc.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan from January through December 2022 amounted to $4.6 billion – 9.9 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan during the reporting period.
