BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. Kyrgyzstan will supply dairy and meat products to Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Uzbek media.
The product supply will be fulfilled, within the framework signed by a roadmap for agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, which includes three contracts for the mutual supply of food, including meat and dairy products, totaling $373 million.
The relevant roadmap was signed during the Uzbek-Kyrgyz summit at the highest level in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, on January 26.
In 2022, Uzbekistan imported Kyrgyzstan food products worth $3.39 billion, which is 35.2 percent higher, compared to the reporting period in 2021. Over the past year, $318.3 million worth of meat was imported from Kyrgyzstan— an increase of 69.8 percent.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between the countries in January 2023, amounted to $61.5 million. Kyrgyzstan’s imports from Uzbekistan in the reporting period made up $43.3 million, decreasing by 17 percent over January 2022 ($52.2 million), while exports amounted to $ 18.3 million.
