TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 25. China’s EXEED car manufacturer looks to launch production of its new RX model in Uzbekistan in 2024, Trend reports.
EXEED International representative in Uzbekistan, Lawson Khan, added that the brand plans to launch production of a new model in Uzbekistan in 2024, stressing that the RX model was highly popular on the Russian market.
"I think this model might be able to sell us about 3,000 or 4,000," he said, without giving out any further details.
The company itself says RX is the most anticipated new product of the year in the EXEED line, which was appreciated by the International Design Award (IDA), where the EXEED RX was awarded the gold award. Time will show how Uzbek customers will react to RX.
As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, more than 328,000 passenger cars were produced in Uzbekistan in 2022.
The volume of production in the automotive industry of Uzbekistan by the end of 2021 amounted to 32.7 trillion soums, the growth in the production of buses and trucks—159 percent and 107 percent, respectively, passenger cars—87 percent.
According to UzAuto Motors, its enterprises produced 235,750 cars last year.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan imported 5,403 electric cars worth $167 million from January through June 2023.
According to the country's Statistics Agency, this import volume represents an almost five-fold increase over the same period last year, with 4,289 more electric vehicles transported into the country.
