TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 4. Uzbekistan is set to strengthen its collaborative efforts with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of antimonopoly regulations, Trend reports.

The news followed a meeting between representatives of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of Uzbekistan and members of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on legal regulation of competition and conducting antimonopoly investigations, as well as control over reference prices for medicine in Uzbekistan.

Uzbek representatives have also met with members of the Department of Sanitary, Phytosanitary, and Veterinary Measures of the EEC. The parties discussed the protection of consumer rights and the specifics of the application of national and supranational legislation in this area.

In recent years, hundreds of projects and enterprises have been launched in Uzbekistan in priority sectors with the participation of companies from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.

Moreover, investment agreements and trade contracts worth over $10 billion were concluded between Uzbekistan and EAEU countries during the INNOPROM Central Asia International Industrial Exhibition held in April 2023 in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent.
