TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 13. Russian Gazprom Neft, the third-largest oil producer in Russia, and Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz, specializing in oil and gas production in the country, have signed an agreement for the optimization of the processes of drilling oil wells, Trend reports.
As per data by Uzbekneftegaz, Gazprom’s Noyabrskneftegaz subsidiary plans to develop a number of engineering approaches and solutions for the construction and operation of wells at Uzbekneftegaz’s fields.
The measures will include drilling supervision, equipment management, recommendations for well design modifications, and the selection of the most suitable drilling fluid formulation.
Gazprom Neft's advanced technologies and experience are said to help Uzbekneftegaz reduce the construction time of wells by more than 20 percent.
During the signing ceremony, the parties considered the possibility of creating a drilling management center in Uzbekneftegaz, where Gazprom Neft plans to use its software and best practices in the field of well construction.
Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz Bakhodyr Sidikov noted that the company, in its turn, is actively implementing a set of measures for digitalization and automation of production processes in order to increase their efficiency.
"The use of advanced technologies in this area will optimize the planning, coordination and control of production processes, which will reduce risks, increase process manageability and productivity of the wells," he said.
Meanwhile, Gazprom Neft has been creating drilling control centers since 2012, which increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon production and technological processes. Currently, there are 10 such centers in the company's structure, which cover 87 percent of the total number of wells.
