TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 20. Construction of an overpass between Uzbekistan’s cities of Tashkent and New Tashkent, Trend reports.
The project, proposed by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, will be implemented in 2024-2025 and is aimed at eliminating regularly occurring traffic jams.
The New Tashkent city will be established on 19,700 hectares of land were selected in the Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik districts of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region. Uzbekistan has attracted foreign companies for developing the master plan, industry plans and target programs. At the first stage, it's planned to build housing and infrastructure for 100,000 residents.
Meanwhile, the mentioned overpass includes a comprehensive infrastructure development plan with construction of 1 bridge, 3 tunnels, 4 roundabouts, and the establishment of additional road networks.
The new bridge is said to reduce the travel time by 20 to 30 minutes.
