TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 2. Turkish businessmen plan to invest in construction of a jewelry plant in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The Governor (Khokim) of the Fergana region Khairullo Bozorov held a meeting with local businessman Ulugbek Abdurakhimov and Turkish businessmen Ali Uyanik and Cezmi Sen to discuss the matter.
More than 300 permanent workplaces will be created at the plant within two years. The total cost of the project is expected to be $10 million.
The plant will produce gold and silver jewelry. The factory will also have a research and development department and a training center.
In addition to the domestic market, it is planned to export the manufactured products to European and US markets.
