TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 15. Uzbekistan state company "Temiryo'lkargo" agrees to expand cooperation with Chinese Jiayou International company, Trend reports.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan Railways, a delegation of the Uzbekistan Railways subsidiary and the Ministry of Transport went on a working visit to Beijing last week. The guests met with Meng Liang, chairman of the Chinese Jiayou International Company, on January 14.
The parties discussed matters of increasing multimodal transportation on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route. They also touched upon the introduction of digital solutions in the management of warehouses and logistics centers.
Following the meeting, Temiryo'lkargo and Jiayou International signed a memorandum of cooperation.
China has taken the place of Uzbekistan's main trade partner in recent years. The parties are constantly looking for new transportation routes and corridors to increase the supply of goods between the countries.
Earlier, the Chinese Zhengzhou Hongyi Transportation Logistics Company launched road freight transportation from Shenzhen to Tashkent.
The opening of the new route will increase trade between Shenzhen and Tashkent, as well as further facilitate border procedures and reduce travel time and logistics costs.
Moreover, Uzbek companies are exploring alternative routes for road transportation to the Chinese market. For example, three trucks from Uzbekistan recently transited through Kazakhstan to Foshan, located in southern China.
