TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 2. Uzbek Metallurgical Combine (Uzmetkombinat) plans to reduce production costs by 20 percent year-on-year, general director of the enterprise Rashid Pirmatov said, Trend reports.
He addressed speech at a meeting where Uzbekistan's president Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on measures to develop Uzbekistan's metallurgical enterprises.
The meeting was attended by heads of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, Uzbek Metallurgical Combine (Uzmetkombinat) and Navoiyuran state enterprise, as well as Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov and others.
The combine plans to increase operational efficiency, energy efficiency, and optimize organizational matters to reduce production costs.
According to him, there are all possibilities for "unconditional fulfillment" of the tasks set by the head of state, including transformation of the enterprise.
Meanwhile, Uzmetkombinat plans to launch a new hot-rolled coil production line based on an electric arc furnace in Bekabad in the second half of 2024.
