TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 1. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting at the end of the first day of his visit to Khorezm region to discuss the implementation of a large gas chemical project in the region, Trend reports.
The meeting was attended by heads of the Ministry of Energy, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and a foreign investment company. It is planned to invest more than $10 billion in this project.
It is expected that the new production facilities will be able to annually manufacture 2.5 million tons of products and create more than 3,000 jobs. The realization of this project is planned for the period from 2024 to 2028.
Implementation of this project will give a new impetus to the development of the gas chemical industry and will become one of the important industrial facilities within the strategy of New Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to build a gas chemical complex with Russia's assistance in Bukhara region.
This was announced at a meeting between deputy prime ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia Jamshid Khodjaev and Denis Manturov. During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of large joint infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.
