Uzbekistan increases vehicle sales in February

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 19. Total sales of all types of vehicles in Uzbekistan exceeded 115,000 in February, which is 6.3 percent low year-on-year, Trend reports.

As per data by Uzbekistan's Center for Economic Research and Reforms, sales of passenger cars reached 109,700 in February, which is less than 5.6 percent year-on-year.

In the primary passenger car market, over 26,000 cars were sold during the month, which is 8.4 percent more year-on-year.

Sales of domestic passenger cars totaled 23,500, which is 7.7 percent more than last year.

In the foreign car segment, there was an increase of 15.6 percent over the year. Sales of new foreign passenger cars totaled 2,700 cars in February.

Despite some decline in interest in electric cars at the beginning of the year, sales of new electric passenger cars grew three times over the year.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's vehicle sales increased by 8 percent and amounted to 144,500 units in January 2024.

A total of 128,000 passenger cars were sold in the first month of the year, which is 6 percent more than last month. The highest growth rates were observed in the Navoi, Ferghana, and Bukhara regions. In annual terms, the passenger car market grew by more than 8 percent.
