TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 2. Uzbekistan's budget deficit reached more than 6.8 trillion soums ($537.7 million) from March 1 to March 29, 2024, Trend reports.
According to figures from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and
Finance, state income totaled 17.4 trillion soums ($1.3 billion)
during this period. Expenditures totaled 24.3 trillion soums ($1.92
billion).
In addition, Uzbekistan's fiscal deficit was 7.2 trillion soums
($569.4 million) in February 2024. The overall volume of state
receipts was 16.9 trillion soums ($1.3 billion), while expenditures
were 24.1 trillion soums ($1.9 billion).
Meanwhile, in 2023, Uzbekistan's consolidated budget deficit was 59
trillion soums ($4.6 billion), up 285.8 trillion soums ($22.6
billion) from the previous year.
According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance, the
consolidated budget's receipts were 321 trillion soums ($25.4
billion), while expenditures were 380 trillion soums ($30.1
billion).
To note, the consolidated budget deficit reached 5.5 percent of GDP in 2023.
