TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 23. The number of UzCard payment cards issued in Uzbekistan reached 23.1 million in 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from Uzbekistan’s Open Data Portal, this figure represents an increase of 11 percent compared to the previous year (20.8 million in 2022).
The total number of issued UzCard payment cards amounted to 43.9 million from January 2022 through December 2023.
Meanwhile, during the first two months of 2024, Uzbekistan issued 4.06 million UzCard payment cards: 2 million in January and 2.06 million in February.
Data from the Uzbek Open Data Portal indicates that this number has increased by 260,000 payment cards, marking a 6.8 percent annual increase (3.8 million in January–February 2023).
Meanwhile, as per data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 47.1 million from January through February 2024. Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank leads the ranking with 10.9 million bank cards. Ipotekabank ranks second with more than 3.8 million bank cards. Uzbekistan's National Bank closes the top 3 with more than 3.5 million bank cards.
