TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 24. Uzbekistan produced 20 billion kWh of electricity from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the production volume has increased by 0.5 percent over the first quarter of the previous year (19.9 billion kWh in January–March 2023).
At the same time, in March, the country’s electricity production has increased by 6.6 billion kWh (13.4 billion kWh in January–February 2024).
Furthermore, Uzbekistan produced 76.9 billion kWh of electricity in 2023. In total, electricity production reached 345.2 billion kWh in 2019-2023.
Meanwhile, Emirati Masdar Energy Company signed an agreement with Uzbekhydroenergo JSC on exploring the possibility of building pumped storage hydroelectric power plants throughout Uzbekistan.
According to Uzbekhydroenergo, the main purpose of the agreement is to solve problems with disruptions in electricity supply.
