TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 30. Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 24.6 trillion soums ($1.9 billion) from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 8.8 percent year-on-year (22.6 trillion soums, or $1.7 billion in January–April 2023).
The share of manufactured textile products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.4 percent.
At the same time, the production volume of clothing in Uzbekistan reached 7 trillion soums ($552.8 million). The same period last year (5.8 trillion soums, or $458 million in January–April 2023) saw a 20.6 percent rise.
The share of clothing in the structure of the manufacturing industry reached 3.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $1 billion from January through April 2024. This figure is higher by 0.22 percent year-on-year ($997.8 million in January–April 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 11.9 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
