Uzbekistan reveals top banks with largest revenues via payment terminals in 4M2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 3. Uzbek banks’ revenues through payment terminals amounted to 99.3 trillion soums ($7.8 billion) from January through April 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the recorded number reflects a 40 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when the bank recorded 70.9 trillion soums ($5.6 billion) worth of transactions through POS terminals.

Aloqa Bank has become the leader by the volume of revenues through payment terminals among the local banks from January through February 2024. The bank’s revenues amounted to 17.3 trillion soums ($1.3 billion), followed by Ipotekabank (7.3 trillion soums or $578.8 million) and Uzbekistan’s National Bank (5.9 trillion soums or $467.8 million).

Meanwhile, a total of 429,197 payment terminals were installed in Uzbekistan from January through April 2024. The volume of revenues through payment terminals reached 99.3 trillion soums ($7.8 billion) during this period.

At the same time, the number of installed ATMs and infokiosks in the country totaled 27,119 from January through April 2024, while the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan amounted to 48.8 million.
