TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 26. The loans of Uzbekistan's commercial banks amounted to 490.2 trillion soums ($38.8 billion) as of June 1, 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Central Bank shows that the loans of state-owned banks in Uzbekistan reached 343.4 trillion soums ($27.2 billion) during this period, and other banks' loans amounted to 146.7 trillion soums ($11.6 billion).
Among Uzbekistan’s state-owned banks, the National Bank of Uzbekistan accounts for the largest volume of deposits, totaling 100.6 trillion soums ($7.9 billion). During this period, the country’s Xalq bank ranked second with 60 trillion soums ($4.7 billion), followed by Aqrobank (58.5 trillion soums, or $4.6 billion).
Meanwhile, the total volume of commercial banks’ assets in Uzbekistan reached 686.1 trillion soums ($54.4 billion) from January through May 2024.
The assets of state-owned banks amounted to 462 trillion soums ($36.6 billion), while the assets of other banks amounted to 224.1 trillion soums ($17.7 billion) during this period.
