TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 4. The total volume of commercial banks’ assets in Uzbekistan reached 711.1 trillion soums ($56.2 billion) from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the assets of state-owned banks amounted to 475.2 trillion soums ($37.5 billion), while the assets of other banks amounted to 235.8 trillion soums ($18.6 billion) during this period.
Among Uzbekistan’s state-owned banks, the National Bank of Uzbekistan accounted for the largest volume of assets, totaling 133.1 trillion soums ($10.5 billion). The smallest amount of assets was registered at the country’s Poytaxt bank with 256 billion soums ($20.2 million) during this period.
Meanwhile, the capital of Uzbekistan’s commercial banks amounted to 105.1 trillion soums ($8.3 billion) from January through July 2024.
The capital of state-owned banks reached 65.5 trillion soums ($5.17 billion), and the capital of other banks totaled 39.6 trillion soums ($3.1 billion) during this period.
