Iran's interior minister has called for Tehran and Ankara to work together closely in fighting terrorism, contraband trade and organized crime, Press TV reported.
Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar told Turkish Ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim that the two nations enjoy great potential to further boost already flourishing ties in all areas.
Iran's interior minister said the two sides have set a $30bn target for mutual trade.
The Iranian official lauded Ankara's stance on Tehran's peaceful nuclear work, and added the Tehran Declaration turned over a new page in cooperation among independent states across the globe.
He then hailed Turkey's role in dispatching the aid convoy to Gaza, and said "the Zionist regime's brutal attack on the flotilla further revealed Tel Aviv's crimes".
The top Iranian official then called for promotion of border transactions as well as expansion of border markets.
The Turkish envoy, in turn, termed Iran an important player in the region and in the world, calling for further promotion of all-out ties with Tehran.
He then underlined border cooperation can serve as the driving force behind expansion of mutual activities in other fields.
Yardim then said the stage is set for more visits to Iran by Turkish tourists.
