The Turkish foreign minister spoke to his Iranian counterpart by phone regarding Iran's nuclear file, Anadolu Agency reported.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had a phone talk with his Iranian counterpart Manuchehr Mottaki and exchanged views on using diplomatic means to provide fuel for Tehran's nuclear research reactor.
The two foreign ministers agreed that the Tehran declaration is a suitable alternative for failed confrontational approaches, Press TV reported.
Mottaki praised Turkey and Brazil for voting against the imposition of a fourth round of UN Security Council sanctions against Iran.
The Iranian foreign minister touched upon the vast capacities of independent countries for increasing cooperation.
Mottaki also expressed condolences to Davutoglu over casualties in recent terrorist attacks in Turkey, and said two countries were in solidarity against terrorism, Anadolu Agency said.
Under the agreement signed by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki and Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim in Tehran on May 17, Iran committed to give 1,200kg of 3.5% enriched uranium to Turkey in exchange for 20% enriched uranium it will receive from Western countries to be used as fuel in the nuclear research reactor in Tehran.
Tehran will receive the enriched uranium from the Vienna Group, comprising of the United States, France, Russia and IAEA, in Turkey.
