Two convicted drug traffickers were hanged Sunday in south-eastern Iran, Fars news agency reported.
The men, who had also been convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping, were hanged in a prison in the city of Zahedan after their death penalties were confirmed by the Supreme Court, it said.
Zahedan is the capital of Sistan-Baluchistan province bordering both Afghanistan and Pakistan. The province is used by bandit groups as major transit route for narcotics, officials said, dpa reported.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and trafficking of drugs weighing more than 5 kilograms are among crimes punishable by death in Iran.
