Iran and Oman will conduct joint search and rescue exercises in the Sea of Oman, the Iranian news agency Mehr reported.
Senior Iranian naval commander Fariborz Qaderpanah said that the joint exercises aimed to improve the relations between the two countries.
He added that there was no need to involve other countries' naval forces to provide security in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman, as the regional countries themselves can cope with this task.
