Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that launching satellite into orbit changed the scientific atmosphere of the country, IRNA reported.

President Ahmadinejad made the remark in the inaugural ceremony held for Iran's Space Structure Laboratory and among the engineers with Iran's Aerospace Center.

'We should mobilize all our efforts to support the activities of Iranian space scientists in order to pave the way for further telecommunication applications and for further research aimed at sending men into space,' the president added.

He said that the young Iranian scientists showed that achieving the highest level of scientific progress is feasible and through proper planning Iran can send men into space.

'I thank God for the scientific progress of Iranian scientists,' President Ahmadinejad added.

He noted that the pace of scientific progress of young scientists heralds Iran achieving the highest levels of scientific breakthroughs within next 10 to 15 years.
