The Islamic Republic of Iran has managed to manufacture its first domestically-produced electronic simulator system for small arms, Deputy Director of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Education and Training Unit Mohammad Qorbani says, Press TV reported with the reference to Mehr news agency.

According to Qorbani, the system is one of the best designed by Iranian experts so far and could be used in all military units.

The official said that manufacturing and practical training were high on the country's list of priorities, adding that Iran planned to mass-produce the simulators.

Iranian technicians have so far manufactured different kinds of simulators for gunships, fighter jets and submarines.

In November 2010, Iran built a mobile simulator for its advanced Tareq-class submarine. The simulator has three degrees of mobility and has notable features among which are its damage control capabilities.

Simulation of technology is usually used for performance optimization, safety engineering, testing and training. Simulators are considered essential for both aircraft and submarines.
