Iran opposition prepares for rally

Iranian opposition will hold rally on Sunday in connection with the second anniversary of the elections held on June 12, 2009. Young people representing the reformist camp of Iran, issued a appeal, which encouraged people actively participate in "peaceful" rally, said the Iranian opposition website kaleme.com

Former presidential candidates have protested against the results of presidential elections held on June 12, 2009 in Iran. Reformist candidates Mir Hussein Musavi, and Mehdi Karrubi expressed that the elections in Iran had been rigged. Protest, which began after elections in Iran, according to observers, were held at a level unparalleled since the 1979 Islamic revolution. Hundreds of political activists were arrested , dozens of people were killed .

"In connection with the second anniversary of the elections held in 2009, we joined hands and go out to the streets. We renew our promises with visiting friends and arrest leaders of the Green Movement" - the statement says.
