He also emphasized the necessity of signing bilateral agreements on security affairs and said during the meeting the two sides discussed mutual cooperation in other areas as well.

Iran-Pakistan common borders made secure

Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdollahi also said Iran-Pakistan common borders have been secure over the last 11 months and no terrorist act has been carried out during the period.

He said due to the long borders between Iran and Pakistan, the enemies have always made attempts to exploit the situation with the aim of harming the two countries, but fortunately the enemies' conspiracies have been thwarted by the vigilance of the two countries.

He went on to say that a number of terrorist groups have used Pakistani soil to attack Iran in recent years, however the Pakistani government has cooperated with Iran on this matter and that is why no terrorist act has been carried out during the last 11 months.

Abdollahi also called Iran-Pakistan ties close and brotherly and said Tehran and Islamabad have always stood by each other.

The deputy minister added the number of trips that Iranian and Pakistani officials have made to each other's countries proves the fact.

Iran-Pakistan seventh security committee meeting was opened on Saturday and closes on Sunday.
