Tehran will host a congress bringing together the representatives of the Usulgara (fundamentalists) camp from all Iranian provinces and districts next week, the Mehr News Agency quoted Chairman of the Usulgara United Front's election committee Alirza Zakani as saying on Friday.

Zakani stressed that the structure of the election campaign of the Usulgara United Front in provinces has been modernized.

The ninth parliamentary elections are scheduled for March 2012. Some parties have begun pre-election activities, although five months have left till elections.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in late August that the elections should be well protected as "a divine blessing". Later, he stressed that the elections pose potential risk to the country's security and called for national unity.

The Iranian parliament has 290 members but it is considering a project to increase the number of MPs. If the Commission on Parliamentary Affairs completes the project and presents it to the Parliament for approval during two months, 20 more people will take seats in the parliament by the forthcoming elections in March.

Iran's political system is based on the conservatives and reformists. At the moment the Conservatives are in power in Iran.
