Iran will send a monkey to space in two months, Fars news agency quoted the country's space agency chief Hamid Fazeli as saying.
After sending live organisms to space in 2010, scientists are working on a bio-capsule, Hamid Fazeli, president of the Iran Space Agency, said. The specialists are working to resolve technical problems revealed in a capsule that Iran sent last year, he added.
The number of scientists and young Iranians hoping to work with the space agency has increased. Many Iranians living abroad and teaching at universities have contacted the agency and said they are ready to work with the agency.
Iran's attempt to send a monkey into space in late summer of 2011 failed. According to the country's space program, it is planned to send a man into space by 2020.
