A relatively powerful 5.1-magnitude earthquake has rocked the central and eastern parts of Iran's northern province of Mazandaran, Press TV reported.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake hit at 20:38 p.m. local time (17:08 UTC) on Wednesday with its epicenter located 20.1 km underground.
The tremor, which caused panic in northern Iranian cities of Sari, Neka, and Behshahr, was also felt in the capital city, Tehran.
There has been no immediate report of possible casualties or damages.
