Iran to raise output at Soroush oilfield

Iran will increase production at the Soroush oilfield in the Persian Gulf by drilling new wells and revamping current ones, the head of the Soroush oil platform stated.

Kourosh Monjezi told Shana news that the oilfield is currently producing some 210,000 barrels of oil per day .
The National Iranian Oil Company's managing director has announced that 20 contracts will be signed by the end of the current calendar year (March 19,) to develop joint oilfields.

NIOC Director Ahmad Qalebani said contracts for developing Farzad B, Soroush, Esfandyar, Lavan, Arash and Hengam will soon be finalized.

Soroush and Norouz with 15 billion and 4 billion barrels of in-place reserves, respectively, are among the largest oil fields in the Persian Gulf.
