Iran will never halt its enrichment of uranium, Islamic Republic's representative to IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh said at the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting, Fars reported.
"Accepting IAEA conventions is voluntary, this is for making the cooperation between IAEA members in peaceful nuclear energy use easier, not for spying and damaging members' security," Soltanieh said.
He added that IAEA inspectors should have inspected Iran's nuclear sites, instead of getting involved in spying operations, noting that some IAEA members are attempting to make matters more complicated, by submitting false information to the agency.
"Iran is seriously concerned about the leakage of confidential information about its nuclear program by the IAEA inspectors," Soltanieh noted. "Some experts have no nuclear experience, yet they are allowed to approach confidential information."
Soltanieh noted that IAEA inspected Iran's nuclear sites more than 100 times without finding any traces of high-enriched uranium related to military activites in Iran.
Iran has persistently stated that its nuclear programme is for civilian purposes, but some Western powers suspect Iran is trying to cover up nuclear tests there.
The developments come amid mounting impatience from nations including the United States and Israel over Iran's perceived stalling to allow full inspections and oversight of its nuclear programme.
