Kyrgyzstan has expressed its readiness to export meat to Iran, the director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced on Wednesday.

Hamid Safdel told the Mehr News Agency that the offer was made during the tenth meeting of the Iran-Kyrgyzstan joint economic cooperation meeting, which was held in Tehran on Tuesday.

The Kyrgyz side also voiced an interest to benefit from Iranian expertise in establishing Halal food industries, Safdel said.

The two sides agreed to form joint companies and streamline customs affairs in a bid to boost the two-way trade. They also called for the bilateral trade to rise to $2 billion within three years.

They also expressed readiness to expand cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, service and tourism.

Iran primarily exports clothing, nuts, paints and flooring to Kyrgyzstan and imports meet, grain and steel scraps, instead. Kyrgyz Ambassador to Iran Medetkhan Sherimkulov has called on Iranian
companies to take a greater role in different economic, agriculture, industrial and cultural fields in Kyrgyzstan.
