Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi is on his way to Cairo, to participate in the foreign ministers' expert meeting, IRIB NEWS reported.
Salehi, along with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Egypt's FM Mohamed Kamel Amr, Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdul Aziz will meet to discuss the Syrian crisis.
Reportedly, UN Peace Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi will also be participating in the meeting, but only partially.
The officials of the four countries will be meeting to discuss possible options to reach peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
During the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held on August 14-15 in Mecca, Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi proposed the formation of the contact group, including Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia on the situation in Syria.
