Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in Ghana on the last leg of a tour to strengthen Iran's relations with Africa.

Ghanaian President John Mahama welcomed Ahmadinejad upon arrival, IRNA News Agency reported.

The Iranian president will meet with Ghanaian leaders and deliver a speech at the Islamic University in Accra during his two-day visit.

Ahmadinejad has already visited Niger and Benin.

He's touring West Africa also in the capacity of the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement which groups one-hundred-and-twenty countries.

During his presidency, Ahmadinejad has forged close diplomatic ties with African and Latin American countries. This is in line with Iran's policy to strengthen relations with developing and independent nations.
