Iran is always ready to talk with all nations except some countries, the spokesman of Iran Foreign Ministry Abbas Araqchi told on July 16.

During a live press conference broadcasted on state TV IRIB, Araqchi said that Iran welcomes the intention of some European countries to negotiate with Iran.

He didn't mentioned any name, but during an interview with BBC the former British foreign secretary Jack Straw said on July 4 that he was not naive about Iran, but things were looking "more hopeful" with the new president-elect Hassan Rouhani. He said that there was no evidence that Iran has been building a nuclear bomb.

A statement released by the European Union's top diplomat on June 17 stressed the 27-nation bloc's willingness to engage with newly elected President Hassan Rohani as well.

"I remain firmly committed to working with the new Iranian leadership towards a swift diplomatic solution of the nuclear issue," Catherine Ashton, the EU's foreign policy chief and the chief negotiator in talks between six world powers and Tehran, said in a statement.

Araqchi said that regarding Iran-the US talks, Washington's "beautiful speeches" are not enough and they should take pragmatic steps towards Iran".

The U.S. has announced that it's ready to hold direct talks with Iran.

Araqchi said that our criterion is Washington's behavior in action.
