Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will take part in the opening meeting of next week's talks with the p5+1, Mehr News Agency reported.

Zarif heads the Iranian delegation, but sources close to the team say Zarif will be present in the talks only if other parties are represented by their foreign ministers. Otherwise, Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi will represent Iran in the talks.

Iran is believed to offer a new set of proposals during next week's talks with the p5+1. The talks are due in Geneva, and Iran says it will test the other side's willingness to reach a deal.

Iran says it's going to Geneva to hold serious and substantive negotiations. Tehran says it's ready to allay the West's concerns about its nuclear energy program, but it also expects the other party to lift its illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation.
