Iranian president's fourth nominee for the ministry of sports and youth affairs, Mahmoud Goudarzi, won the vote of confidence of the Iranian parliament (Majlis).

Goudarzi received 199 votes in favor, 44 against and 24 abstentions, the IRNA News Agency reported.

The Iranian president Hassan Rouhani attended the open session of the parliament.

It was the fourth attempt by the government of president Rohani to win a vote of confidence for the vacant seat in his cabinet.

Rouhani's previous nominees for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs all failed to win parliament's vote of confidence.

Seyed Nasrollah Sajjadi was the third nominee who received 124 votes in favor, 107 against and 22 abstentions.

The MPs had previously rejected Masoud Soltanifar and Reza Salehi Amiri for the post.

Vice president Mohammad Shariatmadari is currently the caretaker of the ministry.

Of the total of 18 nominees in the president's proposed list in August, 15 were earlier approved by legislators. Other two ministers were approved two weeks ago.
