Iran's FM Zarif in Syria to discuss terrorism, sectarianism, violence in region

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is in Syria to talk over with the country's officials such issues as terrorism, sectarianism and violence in the region, IRNA news agency reported.
Zarif departed for Syria's Damascus on Jan. 14, from Jordan, after meeting with country's officials. Previously, the high-ranking Iranian official visited Iraq and Lebanon.
On Jan. 16, Zarif is expected to visit Russia, to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and President Vladimir Putin.
The sides are expected to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
