By Milad Fashtami - Trend:

Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said on April 12 that Iran has no option to replace its newly-appointed UN ambassador, Hamid Aboutalebi.

"We will pursue the issue through the United Nation's legal mechanisms," he said.
"Washington needs to fulfill its international obligations," he said.

Iran has named Hamid Aboutalebi, to replace Iran's previous UN ambassador Mohammad Khazaee.

However, the United States said that it will not give a visa to Aboutalebi.

The House of Representatives and the Senate have voted to prevent Aboutalebi from entering the US.

The legislation now needs President Obama's signature for the law.
