The foundation of a pellet plant with a production capacity of 2.5 million tons has been laid in Kharameh County of Iran’s southern Fars Province, Trend reports referring to the website of the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO).

Iran's Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Reza Rahmani also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Naser Taghizadeh, Managing Director of Gol Gohar Mining & Industrial Company, said that this plant will be built in collaboration with IMIDRO, Gol Gohar and Farzanegan Fars Niku, adding that 43 percent of the plant's shares belong to Gol Gohar.

He also said that Iran's Fakoor Sanat and China's NFC companies will also have a share in the plant.

"This plant will be constructed in a 100-hectare area ​​in the south of Kharameh County," he said.

Taghizadeh went on to say that the contract for the construction of the plant is 105 million euros and 1.54 trillion rials (about $36.6 million).

He stated that the duration of the contract is 36 months starting from February of this year.
