Iran's Energy Ministry has been declared an Iranian side of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Commission, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said.
This decision was approved by the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers, Ardakanian added, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Iranian side’s responsibilities were handed over to the Iranian Energy Ministry upon the Foreign Ministry’s proposal.
The Iranian minister added that the Iranian Energy Ministry and the Afghan side discussed the water issues. From now on, the ways of increasing trade turnover and economic issues will be also discussed.
The Iranian Energy Ministry is the responsible body of the Iranian side in joint economic commissions with such countries as Russia, Germany and Tajikistan.
