Trend:

Iran set up health center at Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) to check the passengers arriving from China, spokesman of the Civil Aviation Organization Reza Jafarzadeh told Trend.

"Considering the outbreak of dangerous Corona disease in various countries, all Iranians and foreign citizens arriving from China are being checked," the official said.

"In cooperation with the Health Ministry, doctors have been deployed in the airport to examine passengers that are suspicious of having Corona virus," Jafarzadeh added.

"Preventing the spread of Corona disease is a national concern, so the necessary cooperation has been established between Imam Khomeini Airport and the Health Ministry to diagnose the patients," the spokesman said. "So far, no suspicious cases have been reported."

The official has indicated suspicious passengers will be accommodated in quarantine in the specific center for contagious diseases that is set up in the Imam Khomeini Airport.

"Passengers from Bangkok, China and South East Asia will be examined before arriving to Imam Khomeini's main hall," Jafarzadeh said.

"There are four direct flights from Chinese cities; however, the connecting flights from China will be monitored as well," he noted.
