Iran's Zanjan province increases imports of non-oil products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 4. Imports of non-oil products into Iran's Zanjan province increased by 43 percent in value terms and by 23 percent in weight terms in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), Trend reports via the province's customs administration.

According to the administration, over the reporting period, 32,000 tons of non-oil products worth $60 million were imported into Zanjan province.

Meanwhile, 26 percent of the import of non-oil products into the province accounted for pulp, 16 percent - equipment and spare parts, and 11 percent - superabsorbent polymer (SAP).

The administration added that products in the above province were mainly imported from China, the UAE, and Türkiye.

Overall, the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration show that Iran imported 5.84 million tons of products worth about 9.08 billion dollars in the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).

Additionally, Iran's non-oil imports grew by 9.19 percent in value and 13.3 percent in weight in the first two months of the current Iranian year compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
