Iran's Dehloran petrochemical company nears completion of oil refinery

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. The oil refinery of Iranian petrochemical company Dehloran will be put into operation soon, Executive director of the company Javad Kamari said, Trend reports.

According to him, $1.1 billion has been spent on the construction of this plant.

Kamari stated that with the commissioning of the plant, this plant will collect and process flare gas flared at nine flares in six oil fields in Iran (Cheshmehosh, Paidare Gharb, Danan, Sarvak, Azer, and Dehloran).

He added that the plant can process 20 million cubic feet (about 6.8 million cubic meters) of oil and gas per day.

The official noted that the plant will annually produce about 1.06 million tons of C2+, 150 million cubic meters of natural gas, 850,000 barrels of gas condensate, and 400,000 tons of sulfur. Once the plant is operational, it is projected to have annual revenues of $700–$760 million.

Besides, the company is building another plant. This plant is planned to produce 650,000 tons of olefin, 300,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 300,000 tons of light polyethylene, and 160,000 tons of polypropylene.

To note, about 50 million cubic meters of flared gases are flared daily in Iran. Currently, Iran collects more than 20 million cubic meters of flare gas daily.
