BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Iran has suspended indirect negotiations with the US mediated by third countries due to the current conditions in the region, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is on a visit to Oman, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, Oman has made positive efforts in exchanging information between Iran and the US or conducting talks. This process was initiated earlier and continued under the previous government.
Araghchi added that Iran implicitly does not see suitable conditions for negotiations with the US until the current crisis in the Middle East is over.
“In case the crisis is over, Iran will decide on the form in which to resume negotiations with the US,” he noted.
To note, over the years, indirect talks have been held between Iranian and US representatives in Qatar and Oman, and several agreements have been reached.
