President Ahmadinejad arrived in Sari

(IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Sari, capital of northern Mazandaran province, Tuesday morning for another of his visits to various provinces of the country.

The president, accompanied by members of his cabinet, was warmly welcomed by local officials including the city's Friday Prayer leader, governor-general, provincial representatives in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) and army officials.

President Ahmadinejad will soon address local residents gathered in the city's main stadium, reports Trend.

The president is expected to tour other cities of the province such as Savad-Kouh, Galougah, Behshahr and Neka and address their residents. He will also be meeting the province's elites and war veterans.

Before concluding his provincial visit, the president and his cabinet ministers will hold a session in Sari Thursday afternoon to discuss the province's problems and needs.

President Ahmadinejad's current provincial visit is his 22nd to various provinces of the country since the start of his initiative of bringing the government closer to the people.

He and his cabinet have already visited the provinces of South Khorasan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Ilam, Qom, Hormuzgan, Bushehr, Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, Lorestan, Golestan, Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Khorassan Razavi, Zanjan, Markazi, Qazvin, Hamedan, East Azarbaijan, Tehran, North Khorassan, Kordestan, West Azarbaijan and Ardebil.

Mazandaran province has a population of about 2.9 million.
